A Breast Pump Primer by Boston Mamas on www.workitmom.com

I rented a hospital grade pump for the first month, it was heavy, but probably not 18 lbs heavy. It also wasn't any larger than the Pump in Style is (when you include the case for the Pump in Style). I don't think I'd call it "bring to work portable", but it could easily be moved from room to room or taken with on a vacation (not that I went on a vacation that month!). I really liked that pump, it spoiled me for other pumps!
I use a Medela Pump in Style at home and the hospital grade medela at work. I am lucky to work for a hospital which provides a "Lactation Lounge" with pumps for employees to use. I have the back pack version of the PIS and to be very honest, I regret getting this particular version. The pump works GREAT but the back pack is not at all ergonomically designed. I take the train and have a good walk to get in to the hospital and always end up with shoulder cramps by the time I reach my destination. Plus I always need a second bag for reading material, wallet, keys et al. I notice that I usually get an ounce or two more from each breast when using the hospital grade pump at work.
